Alcohol Testing and Drug Testing in the Workplace (substance abuse)

Healthcare RM provides expert advice and guidance on all forms of alcohol and drug testing including training for line managers in identifying the signs of abuse, use of equipment, test frequency, chain of custody, false negatives and false positives, how to manage any positive cases and the likely outcome of any treatment.

Under health and safety legislation, employers have a responsibility to monitor substance abuse in managing their duty of care. We strongly recommend that all drug and alcohol testing is supported by a current company policy on a ‘For Cause’ basis which also provides support via a therapeutic contract or similar.
