Success at IIRSM Risk Excellence Award

  • news

We are proud to have enjoyed a successful night at the IIRSM Risk Excellence Awards 2020 with a win and a highly commended for our work.

The awards aimed to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements and hard work towards Risk Excellence internationally. Applications came from companies large and small from around the globe, showcasing the varied and innovative work of individuals, teams and organisations when it comes to the management of threats and, more importantly, opportunities.

Going into the virtual event with three nominations under our belt was already a big win for us and a testament to the creativity and diligence of our team.

To pick up the SME Risk Initiative of the Year award was a real honour and to compliment that with a highly commended in the Technology Risk Management Initiative of the Year was the icing on the cake.

As part of our application process, we submitted success stories for judges to consider.

This included work with a key client where:

  • Healthcare plan costs were reduced by £2.2 million over two years
  • Physiotherapy costs were reduced by £750k over the same period
  • Work related musculoskeletal disorders were reduced by 45%
  • Absence days relating to musculoskeletal and mental ill health were reduced
  • Unhealthy lifestyles and behaviours were addressed

Announcing us as winners, the IIRSM commented:

The winner of this award goes to a company that developed a novel approach to risk evaluation, considering the mental health and wellbeing of employees and the associated risks of their ability to perform their work safely.

“They carried out extensive research comprising of a data pool of 56,000.

“I am very pleased to announce, our 2020 winner is healthcare rm.”

Dr Pamela Gellatly, healthcare rm CEO, said: “We are proud of our integrated approach that considers underlying causation and supports the individual to address and self-manage (where appropriate) not only their current symptoms but also reduce the risk of future ill health. This approach improves the quality of life of each person whilst also reducing the cost of unnecessary or inappropriate interventions.

“This recognition is a great achievement for us and I would like to thank our team for their hard work.

“As a sponsor for the ceremony itself, we were particularly pleased to see so many people come together in a virtual setting to give the night a real sense of occasion.”
